FIRST Lego League Robotics is a major team commitment. Please only sign up for Tryouts if you are available to make a full commitment to all team sessions through next spring. The team meets both Tuesday evenings and Thursdays after school. Competitions are full days on the weekend and there may be occassional weekend practices.
Sessions will be held:
Tuesdays @ 6pm - 7:30pm AND Thursdays @ 3:10pm - 4:40pm
First Lego League season runs from Thursday, Sept. 15th - Early February (based on advancement of team in the league, it could go longer).
Robotics Team is for those students who want to be part of FIRST Lego League (FLL), a fun and challenging competition focused on robotics skills, innovation and team spirit. Participation is via tryouts and registration will be by invitation only. Team tryouts will be judged by the coaches, giving priority to 7th and 8th graders and with an eye toward gender balance. Attendance at weekday sessions and weekend competitions is MANDATORY, along with additional weekend hours as needed to prepare for competitions. Girls are strongly encouraged to tryout. Robotics experience is NOT required - teamwork, problem solving and creative thinking are the only pre-requisites.
